Teacher Supply Chain

As an educator at our International Business programme, you teach and develop subjects related to supply chain. You also act as member of our Education Committee and mentor students.

We are looking for an experienced educator in supply chain (for international expansion strategies) and in managing international projects with a passion for getting grips on logistical, political and social challenges to create value for all stakeholders involved in an ethical and sustainable manner. You are an experienced and enthusiastic educator, and you know how to convey your passion and knowledge to young International Business professionals.
Your expertise is in the internationalization process of a company’s business including the logistical, political, and social challenges that pertain to international expansion, making the best deals to reach company objectives in an ethical and sustainable manner, and in successfully establishing cooperation across cultures. You have affinity with the business world and you have substantial teaching experience within higher education.
You have the ability and ambition to also fulfil roles that revolve around our curriculum including: acting as a member of our Education Committee, designing new curriculum components for supply chain related subjects and acting as tutor in projects.
You want to take on coordinator roles and you have a hands-on mentality.
You have the determination to provide top level work even during peak times of the school year.
You are passionate about mentoring students during their internships and enjoy acting as a coach for students during their four years in our programme.
You have great people skills and understand that being an educator involves much.

Your role as Educator within Avans

International Business has built a sound reputation in higher education, which is rooted in a committed and highly international staff, with a personal and small-scale approach to education, an internationally and interculturally diverse student population and a strong network of international partner institutions.

A monthly salary of at least € 3.881,- up to a maximum of € 5.332,- gross, based on a fulltime position (scale 11 in the collective labour agreement for Higher Professional Education).
A year-end bonus, which is approximately equal to a 13th month.
We offer a contract for 1 year, with the possibility of extension depending on performance.
Plenty of freedom in your work, with the option of working partly from home.

You enjoy inspiring your students with your knowledge and enthusiasm. You are a flexible team player, you have strong interpersonal and organisational skills and you are able to motivate your colleagues. You have an entrepreneurial attitude and are efficient in your time. Additionally:

You hold, at minimum, a relevant Master’s degree and have relevant (international) work experience in business and in Higher Education.
You have experience in teaching and developing subjects related to supply chain and the ability to develop and assess such subjects;
You have experience with teaching professional skills and the ability to develop and assess these;
You have experience with guiding students during internships and the ability to assess their work;
You have a Basic Qualification in Didactic Competence (BDB) certificate or you are willing to attain this through Avans.
You possess excellent communication skills in English C1 level.
You have basic ICT skills to work (collaboratively) using Microsoft 365 and you are able to use core applications for the teaching and learning process.
You show initiative and ownership in learning about blended learning, technological developments, and the use of data within education and the economic domain.
