In the THUAS bachelor’s programme International Business (IB) we are passionate about preparing our students in the best way for the real business world, in order to become bridge builders in an international setting. Finance, Marketing and Supply Chain form important pillars of our programme, besides leadership development for a sustainable and data driven future.
We are currently looking for a lecturer in the specialisation area of Operations & Supply Chain Management, who preferably has recent experience in the relevant business and related industry and who is passionate about creating the best educational programme for our international students. We are looking for versatile candidates with a multidisciplinary mindset.
Tasks & Duties
- Carrying out teaching duties in the key domains of International Business foremost in the area of Operations & Supply Chain Management, and related process- and project management content; contributing to the development of materials for Operations & Supply Chain related modules;
- Guiding students in their development and learning skills as a mentor/study coach; coaching students with their practical business-related assignments, projects and internships.
About the programme
International Business (IB) at the Hague University of Applied Sciences is a well-established undergraduate degree program which prepares students to become versatile professionals in disciplines such as Marketing & Sales, Finance & Accounting & Supply Chain Management. Graduates of the programme get a Bachelor of Business Administration (BBA) degree. With 30 years of teaching and learning to draw from, and 1700 students from more than 50 nationalities, and an equally international staff, the programme truly offers a diverse work environment. What do we expect from you?

What you also need for the position:
- A relevant Master’s degree (Msc or MBA);
- A minimum of 5-7 years of work experience in supply chain management or related industry, within which operational experience and project and process management is evidential;
- Or demonstrated work experience as a teacher or trainer in supply chain & operations management or service industry;
- A relevant (international) network of business contacts;
- An excellent command of written and spoken English and Dutch;
- Passion for teaching and guiding students in a competence-oriented international educational setting.
- If possible but not mandatory: BKE/BDB teacher qualifications.
When we meet for an interview, you will be able to convince us you are comfortable to alternate in roles and styles in order to meet your (educational) goals. Your candidacy would improve, if you could share examples out of your work experience that support you, such as:
- How you stimulate and motivate others (students) in their personal and professional development, in line with the educational goals set in the programme;
- How you contribute(d) to a collaborative (teaching) environment in which you seek and offer support to students and colleagues;
- Teamwork, especially while working and communicating within an international and multi-disciplined team.

- An appointment for one year for 0.8 fte, 32 hours a week;
- A salary of up to € 6.359,47 gross per month (scale 11) for a full-time work week;
