About this job
We are looking for an Educational Manager who has a proven track record in research in Facility Management or alternatively Hotel Management related content. Candidates with work experience in the world of Facility Management e.g., workplace experience design, have our strong preference. In this challenging position, your primary focus is on our Facility Management BSc program and its continuous development, including enhancing its international profile. You are the figure head and representative of our Facility Management program in (inter)national Facility Management networks. You are expected to actively engage with the Facility Management industry, Facility Management projects and Facility Management research. Based on your expertise, you will manage the educational teams in the areas of Facilities Management and ensure that the curriculum keeps up with domain specific trends and developments as well as global developments like Artificial Intelligence and Sustainable Development. You will be in the lead for our research programs in close cooperation with our research staff. You are part of the Management Team (MT) which is responsible for the overall success of the academy.
As an MT member at the Academy of Hotel and Facility (AHF), you will be guiding teams and assisting them in their development towards the BUas+ strategy. Key components of this strategy are ownership of learning by offering flexible learning tracks of our students and community-based working, which is translated into, among other things, the concept of Team-Based Working. Via Team-Based Working (TBW), more responsibility will be assigned to lower operational levels to increase the organisation’s agility and to fuel professional development. The teams are in different stages of development. On the part of the MT, it requires facilitative and serving leadership in order to help employees grow towards more autonomy and self-management within a set framework. Each MT member brings a particular area of expertise, together we are responsible for the quality of education, research and research projects (academic & professional), the connecting link to industry, internationalisation, operational excellence, and student well-being. A dynamic position, where you combine your expertise in Facility Management and research, on our beautiful campus in Breda.
What do we offer you?
- The salary amounts to a monthly minimum of €5,401.60 and a monthly maximum of €6,579.22 (gross amounts based on full-time employment);
- This position will be at level 13 of the cao-hbo (collective agreement). Your official job title will be ‘MT member of the Academy for Hotel and Facility’;
- This position involves a two-year MT appointment with the possibility of renewal at the end of this term;
- Your commuting expenses will be fully reimbursed when you travel by public transport, and you will receive compensation for health insurance;
- You will receive an end-of-year benefit of 8.3% and an annual holiday allowance of 8%;
- You will be awarded professional development hours every year and almost eleven weeks of holiday entitlements in a full-time position;
- Moving from abroad to Breda in the Netherlands? We provide support and financial reimbursements in the case of relocation and settling-in in the Netherlands. Dutch tax authorities may offer tax reduction to applicants from abroad (which makes tax rates comparable to the UK and US).
What do we ask of you?
- You have an academic level of professional and intellectual ability: minimal a master’s degree, preferably a PHD;
- You have affinity with education and relevant working experience within the (international) Facility Management Industry;
- You have good communication skills, value transparency, and enjoy engaging in dialogue with different people, organisations and services;
- You are flexible and able to switch back and forth between the different topics. You work in an efficient and structured manner;
- You are cooperative and approach issues objectively;
- You apply a cross-academy focus;
- You can display an adaptive leadership style that matches the transition toward team-based working and have the skills to guide change;
- You have good Dutch and English speaking and writing skills as you will interact with international colleagues across the organisation and beyond.
