The International and European Law Program is looking for a teaching assistant to strengthen our tutoring and organisation. We are looking for a tutor who strongly believes in motivating young people to become the best version of themselves and understands that a solid foundation in legal skills will give students a competitive advantage in the marketplace.What exactly will you do?As a Programme we use an extensive tutoring system, where as a tutor you will advise and coach small groups of students on assignments, projects, papers and career planning. You are part of a dedicated team. In addition you also function as their individual coach. You can have additional responsibilities in the organization of the Programme.

Do you want to know more about the Law Program and the Faculty?The International and  European Law Bachelor Program of The Hague University of Applied Sciences (THUAS) is a 4-year LL.B. program, aimed at training students in the fields of commercial, international and European law, with a strong emphasis on practical legal skills. The Program, which is licensed and accredited by the Dutch Government, is  fast-growing with currently around 1150 students and 50 faculty members of diverse international backgrounds. Functie eisen

Your profileWe are looking for a collegial and enthusiastic teacher, or new graduate who would like to become a teacher, who is committed to the importance of teaching professional legal skills in a well-balanced law program. A successful candidate will demonstrate interpersonal and communication skills in order to motivate and coach students, and an understanding of legal professional assignments. Our faculty and student body is multicultural and experience in working in a multicultural environment is preferred.  We teach our program in English, so fluency in written and spoken English is essential. Additionally, the selected candidates will be competent with IT tools in the office as well as in the classroom and have strong organizational skills.We encourage to apply for this vacancy if you meet this profile and you:
  • Have a Bachelor or Master in Law or a relevant social science;
  • Have a residency permit that allows full time work in The Netherlands;
  • Can start 1 November 2019 or earlier.


What we offer
  • A salary between € 2.769,32 and € 4.192,37 gross per month (scale 10) for a full-time work week, excluding 8% holiday pay. (The employment conditions are in keeping with the Collective Labour Agreement for higher professional education);
  • A full 13th month;
  • An appointment of 0,5 FTE, 20 hours per week in a temporary position until 20 July 2020. The position concerns a temporary replacement;
  • An easily accessible work space Hollands Spoor, by both car (plenty of parking space) and train (next to the Hollands Spoor station);
