The master Digital Driven Business (DDB) is a cooperation between the Faculty Digital Media and Creative Industries (FDMCI), Faculty Technology (FT) and the Faculty of Business and Economics (FBE). The first group of max. 30 students will start September, 2nd 2019. The master provides students with the knowledge and skills needed to work with data and emerging technologies in order to generate new business insights that add to the business development of any organization (profit and nonprofit). The master is rooted into data and technology-oriented disciplines such as informatics and business intelligence and more business-oriented disciplines such as marketing, information systems and business administration. At the research level 4 research groups participate in this Master: research group of Digital Commerce, research group of Urban Analytics, research group of Cross Media and the research group of Visual Methodologies.
For the upcoming programme, the educational team of the master is searching for enthusiastic HvA colleagues who would be interested in playing a lecturing role in parts of the master. In particular we are searching for lecturers who have a background in one the following two themes:
- Big data and programming. This theme covers topics such as computational models, data structures, algorithms, data mining, big data, databases, and online data mining.
- Digital Business Transformation: This theme covers topics such as digital innovation, management information systems, technology infrastructure, emerging and disruptive technology, business models, and information systems.
These themes translate more particular into the following courses that are part of the curriculum of the Master: Digital Business Analytics and Data Visualization, Online Data Mining; Programming for Business, Database management for Business (all big data and programming). Digital Business Management and Emerging Technologies in Digital Business (digital business transformation). It is for these courses that we are searching for HvA colleagues. Firstly for the upcoming year 2019-2020 and thereafter as a substantial growing interest in this Master is expected.
The Amsterdam University of Applied Sciences (AUAS) is based in The Netherlands, in the city of Amsterdam. The AUAS trains the professionals of tomorrow. Practical orientated research is an important component of the educational programmes offered by our schools. Our research always addresses a real-life world problem from the professional field, and we conduct the research in close collaboration with both academics and professionals working in the particular discipline. We have a joint Executive Board with the University of Amsterdam (UvA) and our close cooperation with the UvA is particularly valuable for research purposes.
The AUAS consists of seven schools. We have a total of 43,000 students and offer a total of 80 bachelor and master programmes.
We have 250 partner institutes across 50 different countries and contribute to various educational projects such as curriculum development, research projects, student/professor exchanges and work placements within an international working field. This ensures that the education provided by AUAS is truly internationally orientated.
To teach at the master, a lecturer should meet the following requirements:
- Actively participating in a research group and a PhD (or in progress) in the relevant field of informatics, computer science, information systems, marketing, business administration, or a related field.
- Excellent in spoken and written English.
- An excellent track record of teaching at the Bachelor level. Teaching experience at the Master level would be a plus.
We expect the initial size of the job appointments of 0,2 fte The tasks fall within the job description of Docent/onderzoeker 1.
