Who are we looking for?
We are looking for an enthusiastic colleague with knowledge and expertise in the field of Computer Vision & Data Science. An image data science professional who is able to design deep learning architectures for big image data analysis and implement these in a wide range of domains/sectors (enabling technology) and who also wants to teach students this field of study.
What will you be doing?
As a lecturing researcher, you will actively contribute to the development of the HBO Master Computer Vision & Data Science study programme. As part of the development team, you will share your expertise in this field and will help to develop teaching materials. After the initial phase, you will be one of the teachers in this programme.
As a researcher within the research group Computer Vision & Data Science, you will also work on multiple projects at the same time. These projects cover the following fields: Computer Vision, Data Science, Deep Learning, Sensor Fusion and UAVs (drones). You should be able to demonstrate your prior experience in project-based work and enjoy working in a multi-disciplinary environment comprising lecturers, external specialists, companies and students. You will collaborate with your immediate colleagues to successfully complete the projects.

Where will you be working?
You will be working in the lab of the Centre of Expertise in Computer Vision and Data Science. This is a dedicated space with one of the broadest collections of cameras, lenses and lighting equipment in the Netherlands. By joining the research group, you will be performing applied research on Computer Vision and Data Science methods and their applications. In doing so, you will use the latest computing facilities such as the Deep Frisian supercomputer.
Within the research group professors of applied sciences collaborate with researchers, students and partner organisations to solve real-world image analysis problems. This results in optimal knowledge development and sharing within the group, while strengthening NHL Stenden’ s educational programmes and contributing to the growth of the region.
- A PhD in the field of Computer Vision or Data Science
- < >emonstrable work experience and a passion for Computer Vision, Data Science and Deep Learning
- A teaching qualification or a willingness to attain it
- Knowledge and skills in the area of research methods

The salary is based on age and experience, to a maximum €5.564,23 (scale 12, Collective Labour Agreement for higher education) gross per month for a full-time position, excluding 8% holiday allowance and 8.3% end-of-year bonus. The contract will initially be for a period of 1 year.
