AMSIB seeks to strengthen circular and sustainable procurement and supply chain management. The position provides time for a research project publicly funded by the Dutch Research Council. The project aims to build a decision-support simulation tool for circular procurement in healthcare, specifically for reusable and circular isolation gowns. The starting date is February 2024.

Here's how you will make a difference

Teach at the undergraduate and graduate levels topics related but not limited to sustainable supply chain management, circular systems/operations, system innovation and supervise bachelor and master theses.

Participate in international research projects focused on circular economy, circular procurement, sustainable and circular business models, and economic transformation in different industries such as food/agriculture, manufacturing, energy and healthcare.

Disseminate research results to various stakeholders, including professionals, students, and academics.

Produce high-impact scholarly research that can be published in peer-reviewed journals, practitioner journals, or outlets.

Develop and maintain an international academic and professional network in sustainable supply chain management, circular procurement and operations.

Contribute proactively and collegially to improving AMSIB’s curricula, developing research in the I&E research group and increasing AMSIB’s international visibility.

You will be assigned a buddy and get an onboarding programme (6-18 months) that is fully tailored to your needs. A gross monthly salary between €4,234.28 and €5,936.77 (scale 11 of the higher education collective labour agreement).

What you bring to the table

A (nearly completed or ABD) doctoral degree (PhD or DBA) in supply chain management, circular economy, and operations management with a clear focus on sustainability or circularity.

Ability to apply programming and data analytics (back and front-end applications) in research and solving business problems.

Experience in industry or entrepreneurship, preferably in a supply chain-related international business environment.

Excellent communication skills in English (minimum requirement IELTS 7.0 / CE1).
