Are you passionate about Photonic Microsystem Technology? Do you want to take a leading role in establishing the new Master's program in Applied Quantum Technology while contributing to cutting-edge research in Materials Analysis, Testing, and Probing? This is your chance to make an impact!
This is what you do as Lecturer Photonic Microsystem Technology
You will collaborate on (industrial) R&D projects alongside team members as well as scientists and engineers from our partner organizations. In addition to contributing to project acquisition, you will play an active role in mentoring junior researchers and students. Beyond your research activities, you will be instrumental in designing and implementing the curriculum for the new Master's program in Applied Quantum Technology, set to launch in September 2025. The role offers a balanced workload, with responsibilities evenly split between teaching and research.

School of Life Science, Engineering and Design
As Lecturer Photonic Microsystem Technology at Saxion, you will be a member of the research group Applied Nanotechnology. This team is part of the School of Life Science, Engineering and Design (LED). LED offers an inspiring and effective learning, work and research environment, focused on applied technologies and recent national and international developments.

- The following salary scale: scale 11: min € 4.361 / max € 6.114 (cao-hbo) working on a full-time basis.

Job requirements
We seek a professional who fits the job profile below. Does this sound like you? Then this job is ideal for you!
- PhD in Physics: A strong academic background with a PhD in Physics, preferably with a focus on Quantum Photonics or Electronics.
- Expertise in Quantum Photonics and/or Electronics: Proven experience as a researcher in the field of Quantum Photonics and/or Electronics.
- Experience in Research and Project Collaboration: Ability to collaborate on (industrial) R&D projects with interdisciplinary teams and external partners, contributing to project acquisition and development.
- Teaching Experience: Experience in lecturing at the Master's level, with the ability to design and implement educational content, particularly for the new Master’s program in Applied Quantum Technology.
- Strong Communication and Mentorship Skills: Excellent communication skills, with the ability to mentor and guide junior researchers and students effectively.
