Functie-inhoud

General Function Description

You are able to develop courses that are closely linked to real-world hospitality management practice. You will teach, train, coach and assess international students in communication and leadership skills. Examples of communication skills that you will be focusing teaching are; Assertiveness in dealing with difficult guests, handling difficult behaviour, handling complaints, giving presentations and teamwork. The leadership skills are for example motivating employees, progress and appraisal interviews and meeting

skills. Two times a year you will get the opportunity to guide students through a week long leadership development program on an outdoor location. You are a professional and motivating trainer, encouraging both students and colleagues to achieve excellence. You are an active team player willing to cooperate and contribute to the school’s success. But most of all you feel at home in a dynamic and international academic environment.

Hotelschool The Hague was founded and funded in 1929 by the hospitality industry, to create a central place where industry partners could gain and share new insights, skills and knowledge. Hotelschool The Hague has become an international school since its foundation, specialising in hospitality management. Hotelschool The Hague offers a four year Bachelor of Arts in Hotel Management; also available as the accelerated International Fast Track Programme. Hotelschool The Hague offers a 13-month Master of Business Administration (MBA) in International Hospitality Management too. We are proud of the fact that Hotelschool The Hague is one of the last independent single sector Universities of Applied Sciences in The Netherlands.

The school has two campuses, one in The Hague and one in Amsterdam, with over 2600 students, an international student intake of over 40% and more than 250 employees.

General

You will join a multidisciplinary team of faculty working in a range of hospitality related business areas. The school community is international, and the program is taught, and all business is conducted completely in English. Hotelschool The Hague has an excellent reputation developed over 85 years; the result of the structured & innovative educational program and the experience and quality of our staff and lecturers. Curriculum

The curriculum at Hotelschool The Hague is delivered in a unique competency approach. Courses are integrated using modern methods of practical application and active learning including blended learning, business simulations and case studies, enhancing the students' understanding of each discipline as it is used in real world scenarios.

Functie eisen

Profile

  • a Master’s degree;

  • a minimum of 4 years of international work experience in training in communication skills, leadership and management, preferably within a hospitality focused organisation;

  • several years of teaching experience or proven affinity with teaching

  • analytical and conceptual skills and an excellent command of the English language (C2 level);

  • an inspiring team player for all Hotelschool The Hague students and faculty;

  • excellent social skills, an ability to work independently, and a proactive attitude to problem solving; able to work in a self-directing team;

  • insights into and knowledge of current affairs and developments in (hospitality) management;

  • an enthusiastic approach to education with an emphasis on coaching students to deal with real-world professional assignments.

Arbeidsvoorwaarden

Remuneration

Hotelschool The Hague offers a salary based on scale 11 with a range between € 3,564 and € 4,896 depending on your professional experience and qualifications. In addition, Hotelschool The Hague offers:
