Inspiring students in analyzing and solving business issues in the Hospitality Industry

You will join a multidisciplinary team of faculty working in a range of hospitality related business areas. The school community is international, and the program is taught, and all business is conducted completely in English. General function description
You are able to teach and help develop courses that are closely linked to real-life hospitality management practice. Main goal is to develop the inquisitive mind set of the student. A passion for research is what drives you and enabling others in the willingness to do the same is what inspires you. You love to place research examples in applied business contexts and you are able to explain research as such to others.

You are a professional and motivating lecturer, encouraging students and colleagues to achieve excellence. You are an active team player willing to cooperate and contribute to the school’s success. The role of the lecturer is often that of a coach who guides the students in their learning journey and help them discover what research is and how it can be applied in hospitality management.
You have a good command of didactic skills and you feel at home in a dynamic and international academic environment.

Candidate profile
• An academic degree at Master’s level preferably in research methods or similar
• Experience teaching and conducting research including both qualitative and quantitative methods
• Knowledge of SPSS is required
• Considerable experience in translating real life business issues into applied research questions
• Experience in higher education; an enthusiastic approach to education with an emphasis on coaching students to deal with real-world professional assignments;
• Insights into and knowledge of current affairs and developments in hospitality & services industry is a pre
• Excellent verbal and written command of English
• Excellent social skills, an ability to work both independently and as a member of a team, and a proactive attitude to solve problems

Hotelschool The Hague offers a salary according to the Collective Agreement for the Universities of Applied Sciences in scale 11 with a range between € 3.658,64 and € 5.026,85 depending on your professional experience and qualifications. The contract is annual; however may be prolonged for a permanent contract within the first three years, and is not focused on publications, rather the total contribution of the individual.
