General Function Description

You are able to teach and further develop courses that are closely linked to real-life hospitality HRM practice. You perform teaching responsibilities in a professional manner, encouraging both students and colleagues to achieve excellence, whilst being an active team player willing to cooperate and contribute to the school’s success. You set the example to approaching design and implementation of HR resource strategies and tools, in a multidisciplinary way, reinforced through roles as expert and coach in a dynamic and international academic environment.


Hotelschool The Hague was founded and funded in 1929 by the hospitality industry, to create a central place where industry partners could gain and share new insights, skills and knowledge. Hotelschool The Hague has become an international school since its foundation, specialising in hospitality management. Hotelschool The Hague offers a four year Bachelor of Arts in Hotel Management; also available as the accelerated International Fast Track Programme. Hotelschool The Hague offers a 13-month Master of Business Administration (MBA) in International Hospitality Management too. We are proud of the fact that Hotelschool The Hague is one of the last independent single sector Universities of Applied Sciences in The Netherlands.

The school has two campuses, one in The Hague and one in Amsterdam, with over 2600 students, an international student intake of over 40% and more than 250 employees.

You will join a multidisciplinary team of faculty working in a range of hospitality related business areas. The school community is international, and the program is taught, and all business is conducted completely in English. Position in the organisation

The Faculty is organised by the academic disciplines of:

  • Organisational Behaviour and Leadership

Every faculty member works under the direction of one Faculty Department Head, based upon their area of expertise. The Faculty Department Head reports to the Dean of Faculty and together with the Dean, the Faculty Department Heads are responsible for the academic program of the school.


The curriculum at Hotelschool The Hague is delivered in a unique competency approach. Courses are integrated using modern methods of practical application and active learning including blended learning, business simulations and case studies, enhancing the students' understanding of each discipline as it is used in real world scenarios.

Functie eisen

You have/are:

  • a Master degree with a major in HRM, Organizational Psychology or another relevant study and several years of relevant international service sector work experience;

  • considerable working experience in HRM, preferably change management and organizational development;

  • several years of teaching experience or proven affinity with teaching;

  • a valuable academic international network as well as active relationships with industry and other stakeholders in your knowledge area;

  • analytical and conceptual skills and an excellent command of the English language (C2 level);

  • excellent social skills and a proactive attitude to problem solving; excellent training and coaching skills;

Hotelschool The Hague offers a salary based on scale 11 with a range between € 3,564 and € 4,896 depending on your professional experience and qualifications. In addition, Hotelschool The Hague offers:
