General function description
You are able to teach courses that are closely linked to real-life hospitality management practice. You are a professional and motivating lecturer, encouraging students and colleagues to achieve excellence. You are an active team player willing to cooperate and contribute to the school’s success. You are both a coach and a lecturer with a multidisciplinary approach to business problems. You feel at home in a dynamic and international academic environment. You are familiar with applied research projects and the assessment thereof.
Tasks and responsibilities
You are expected to teach lectures and workshops to small and large groups of students,
You are expected to coach groups of students as well as individual students on matters within your areas of expertise,
You are expected to assess student work and provide both formative and summative assessment feedback.
You are expected to assist with the evaluating and designing of teaching materials within your areas of expertise.

Hotelschool The Hague is looking for a:
Lecturer in Ethics
(0.4 - 0.6 FTE)
You will join a multidisciplinary team of faculty working in a range of hospitality related business areas. The school community is international, and the program is taught, and all business is conducted completely in English. Hotelschool The Hague has an excellent reputation; the result of the structured & innovative educational programme and the experience and quality of our staff and lecturers. You will join a dynamic, hardworking team of professionals in a challenging but friendly environment.
Every faculty member works under the direction of one Faculty Department Head, based upon their area of expertise. The Faculty Department reports to the Dean of Faculty and together with the Dean, the Faculty Department Heads along with the Programme director are responsible for the academic program of the school.
Master’s Degree in Ethics, Global Citizenship or similar;
Proven experience with Ethics, Values and Attitudes within hospitality and service providing organizations in a global society;
Proven experience with 21st century skills; local and global citizenship as well as personal and social responsibility including cultural awareness and competence.
Preferably at least 3 years of teaching experience within Higher Education, ideally in a University of Applied Sciences;
Hospitality experience or a proven affinity with a hospitality focused organization is desired;
A teaching qualification is desired;
Excellent command of both oral and written English is essential (preferably C2 level);
Excellent social skills, an ability to work independently and a proactive attitude to problem solving are desired;
Affinity with learning centred teaching is desired;

Conditions of employment
Depending on your professional experience and qualifications, your salary will be in line with the sector’s collective agreement (CAO-HBO). In addition, Hotelschool The Hague offers an excellent package of fringe benefits.
• A 13th month;
• Employees with working weeks of 40 hours are entitled to 428 hours (53 days) of leave with retention of salary per calendar year;
