What do we expect from you?
The successful applicant will contribute to the School’s objectives by engaging in scholarly activity through teaching and supervision. More particularly, the lecturer will be expected to provide first class teaching across the range of education programs at Arnhem Business School. The candidate will contribute to the development of the academic programs and modules reflecting the importance of the mentioned field in a leading Business School. Supervising students during their internship and graduation assignment will also be expected. Assignments from real companies are an essential part of the program. We expect (over time) a contribution to the development of internal and external relationships by engaging with the wider research and professional community at the HAN and beyond.
HAN University of Applied Sciences (HAN) is a leading university of applied sciences in the Netherlands. From its campuses in Arnhem and Nijmegen, 3,500 staff members provide education to 35,000 students in over 80 Bachelors and Masters courses. Six of these Bachelors courses and 4 of these Masters courses are taught in English to over 2,000 international students.
Arnhem Business School, part of The Institute of Business and Communication, offers the English taught programmes Communications Studies, International Business & Management Studies (IBMS), Finance & Control and Logistics Management.
What are your qualities?
• Student orientation
• University Degree (Master) in relevant field, preferably PhD
• At least 4 years of relevant international business work experience in a relevant field
• Proof of excellent written and oral English language skills - Cambridge Proficiency level C2
• Up-to-date knowledge and of experience in the mentioned field
• Good intercultural teamwork skills
• Team player, proactive and hands-on attitude
Being able to submit a Certificate of Moral Conduct (Verklaring Omtrent Gedrag, VOG) is a prerequisite for employment.
What do we offer?
An independent and varied job in a dynamic and informal setting. Appointment will initially be for one year and will start preferably August 1st. The academic year starts August 20. Depending on your experience level, the position will be at the level of Lecturer level 1 or 2. The gross monthly salary for Lecturer 2 is a maximum of € 3.994,25 (scale 10 of the Collective Labour Agreement for Universities of Applied Sciences), and for Lecturer 1 a maximum of € 4.661,12 (scale 11 of the Collective Labour Agreement for Universities of Applied Sciences). The salary is exclusive of 8% holiday allowance and 8.3% annual bonus. Besides, the HAN offers good provisions regarding pension, health care, training facilities, mobility and parental leave.
